God I love the little connections.

Yumi and Naeko are friends. Naeko and Chiba are friends probs will start dating. Yumi's ex and current boyfriend is Shukichi Haneda who is actually the brother of Akai Shuichi and Sera Masumi. And then Sakurako, the housekeep that has appeared multiple times is friends with Yumi and Naeko.

And apparently Shukichi has intellect similar or higher than Conan. I guess he would be in a similar league as Kudo Yusaku? Akai has a similar intellect to Conan, and sometimes is even impressed so he's probably just a step lower. Hattori has in the past praised Shinichi for being more intelligent in deductions and it does seem like he's just slightly below shinichi.

I suppose the order of deductive intellect would probably go:
- Kudo Yusaku
- Shukichi Haneda
- Conan/Shinichi
- Akai Shuichi/Hattori Heiji

And if I included more characters that have shown some deductive intellect...
- Kudo Yusaku (While it's not entirely known how smart he is, he's shown to be easily a cut above Conan at his current level. Despite having almost no involvement with the Black Org, Gin has been shown to consider him a threat to the BO. )
- Shukichi Haneda (He has solved a case faster than Conan, and shown to be a cut above Sera as she asks him for advice)
- Conan/Shinichi
- Akai Shuichi/Hattori Heiji/Bourbon*** (These 3 are actually probably same level as Conan, but at times it's been shown they've been impressed with his intellect. Note that Akai has helped conan before, showing he can be at the same tier or higher. I do not count Hattori's one time where he was ahead of Conan simply because it was Kansai dialect that Conan did not understand)
- Gin (I believe that Gin could be the same level as the 3 above)
- Sera Masumi
- Eri Kisaki (Surprisingly, she's quite sharp)
- Kudo Yukiko/Haibara Ai/Sato (These three have shown higher deduction skills, but nothing special)
- Mouri Kogoro*** (It can be noted that at times, he's very perceptive. In one of the movies he figured out the culprit much sooner than Conan. When he's does have something click, I would liken him to the level of Akai's group or even Conan's group)

But maybe I'm just totally off.

Yea she's one of the recurring characters. Not entirely sure why Gosho keeps bringing her back, but I find her character pretty likeable and funny at times.

I mean she’s not brought back in. Couple of years especially the recent episodes .I’m surprised she didn’t fall in love with a guy

I think at best he’s with the 3 above tbh. Just from the amount of times he’s been shown. Possibly a step higher but then I’d start considering moving some of the trio up since imo Bourbon is higher thangin.

sorry to say but shukichi haneda shouldn't be at 2nd but 3rd instead with akai and others because in ep 741 (bathroom where ran collapsed as well) shukichi and sera's deduction was proved wrong by conan at the end. Though shukichi was on phone but conan has also solved various cases while on mobile with an ease like those of besieged detective agency , the one with morse code, the on where ran did the deduction. So shukichi should be at 3rd with others.

You're actually wrong about that. If I remember correctly, he believed that her deduction in the bathroom case was unreliable enough to be wholly correct. Furthermore, he has been characterized as being smarter than Shuichi Akai by Masumi.

While there hasn't been many cases involving him, in almost all of them he has shown a very high level of intelligence, able to surpass Shinichi's or at times prove that Masumi's is wrong. I don't think they've actually shown him giving an incorrect deduction yet, like what Masumi does often.

Edit: A quick search on the wiki for that case proves me right. For Bathroom murder case's failed deduction (Manga: 856-858, Anime: 740-741): "Sera had called Shukichi regarding the "adultery case" she was about to investigate and was overheard by Eri. After the murder was discovered, Sera relayed her brother the facts of the case and her deduction by phone call. He told Sera her deduction was unreliable."

Apologies. Just rewatched that part . But I guess shinichi would be smarter when he reaches shukichi's age (if it ever happens).

excellent list, once more your foreknowledge helps me out. once i heard Haneda's family name i wondered... so similar! but his eyes? not quite right. but maybe there's a different mother involved in the Akai family tree? Sera and Shuu almost have the exact same eye shapes and color. hmm! green eyes are DEFINITELY NOT normal in Japan. ;)

i haven't watched 732 so i bet it will be revealed there but isn't Haneda a shogi player? perhaps a professional with a dan ranking so he's got a salary and everything. hmm. unshaven, dirty clothes, pasty skin from staying indoors reading shogi books and practicing. heh! sounds about right.

'collect all seven' i bet he meant 'The Great Titles of Shogi'. Meijin, Ryūō, Kisei, Ōi, Ōza, Kiō, and Ōshō. the problem is, there's only been one man EVER who's held all seven titles at once. in 1996 Habu Yoshiharu held that distinction for only a few months that year.

as to Eri ahh... ehhh... she's good, but i would barely put her on the list at all. she's a lawyer, not a detective or a cop. so she's too used to having all the facts, and i do mean allll of them, laid out before her 'after the fact' in black n white text and photos.

i can only think of one time when Eri solved it, but with a crazy large heaping pile of help from Conan. 'Lawyer Eri Kisaki's Testimony' the time her hairdresser was a murderess. the problem with that case was, Eri entirely utterly and like the usual lawyer was wearing blinders because of 'the law'. that and the fact that her own personal hairdresser was the prime suspect. Eri's berating Kogoro the whole time he's trying to work with Megure and Takaki on the case was ABSOLUTELY unprofessional for a 'servant of the law'.

all the other cases she's participated in as an on-site spectator and member of the 'deduction peanut-gallery': Eri's 'Worst Birthday', the murderess judo champion in 'Might over Mystery' etc. so Eri has been directly involved in only a few 'on-scene investigations' ... at least up to the 700's where i'm at right now.

Yes! A player he is. A very strong one at that. And you're right about that as well, that's his goal to confess or impress his girl if I remember correctly.

But while Eri is a lawyer, I think she's shown us a couple times that she indeed does have some deductive reasoning skills: skills which are better than someone like Kogoro (at least, until Kogoro pulls a fast one like in the movies)

But I based her detective skills off the few appearances she has had and the things she has said. Definitely nowhere near the top, but I think she's a cut above the rest. Although, I might actually have to move Sato because Sato is sharp as well sometimes
